The many health benefits of Maca root and believe me there are a lot, “but what the heck is Maca?” I hear you say! Maca is a super-food that is native to Peru and is grown high in the Andes Mountains. It is a tough little root that can withstand extreme temperature both high and low. I first discovered it about 2 years ago when I was searching for relief from extreme premenstrual tension, it worked and I was hooked by it’s smooth malty, caramel flavour. It is an amazing root that helps balance the endocrine/hormonal system and has been used for centuries for fertility and libido. It is also recommended for menopausal symptoms and for regulating menstruation. Maca helps improve your mood and energy level and has a wonderful warming effect on the body, making it a perfect winter food. It is also fantastic for endurance, stamina and strength which makes it a great super-food for athletes. Add it to smoothies, raw desserts, porridge, soups or simply make a warm drink with it. Enjoy.
Love this, Deb, thanks – I will definitely be trying this! You’re a mine of info!

Hi Deborah, how much Maca powder should I put on porridge in the mornings? And what amount would be recommended with a day? Thanks a mill. Yvonne
Hi Yvonne, that’s a great question, from what I have read if you’re using maca powder 1 tbsp a day, take it for 3 weeks and then take one week off and repeat the process. I would highly advise following the recommended amount stated by the packet. as every companies recommendation is different. Hope this helps Deb 🙂
