My Story
From very early childhood until my early forties I suffered from high anxiety and regular episodes of deep depression. I thought about taking my own life, but honestly I didn’t have the balls.
My emotional pain was so immense that I wanted to die so it would stop and I’d finally be free. I found the whole business of living very difficult and extremely exhausting. My turning point came when a counselor told me that I should accept that I would never be anything more than a depressed person.
That really pissed me off because at my core I’m a rebel and I refuse to conform. But this turned out to be the push I needed to change my life. Then and there I decided “fuck this shit, this is my health, happiness and well-being and I refuse to be another statistic”.
So, I went back to basics, I learned how to nurture and care for myself physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. I soon realised that when I ate a crap diet, didn’t get enough sleep, hung out with toxic people or drank too much alcohol, my mood would drop and I would feel like crap. But when I nourished my body with whole foods, exercised, chilled out and was tuned into my needs I would feel like a different person. It was like night and day.
Oh, by the way, I’m not a complete chancer! My journey into health and wellness began when I was 20, when I trained to be a Fitness Instructor. I worked in the fitness industry for many years before expanding into Massage, Reflexology, Reiki (I’m a Reiki Master), Rahanni, Body Talk and Nutrition. Finally I qualified as a QTT Practitioner in 2014 and this modality stole my heart. Today I have this amazing toolbox of knowledge, wisdom and techniques and can offer my clients a truly holistic approach on their journey to health and happiness.

The Four Keys to Self
Self-awareness
Nobody knows you better than you know yourself! What I mean is, you’re living in your body and you understand its needs whether physical, emotional, mental or spiritual, right? Oh, if only this were the case! Most people have absolutely zero awareness of what their body and soul is crying out for. And it’s not their fault, because most of us are not taught how to understand ourselves. I certainly wasn’t. It took me years to learn how to tune into myself and understand what really makes me happy. P.S. The good news is it won’t take you years because I know all the shortcuts.
Self-honesty
How many times have you lied to yourself? Said things like, “My extra weight doesn’t bother me”, but really it makes you feel unattractive and embarrassed. Or “He’s afraid of commitment and I’m cool with that”, but really you feel unloved and worthless. Look, I get it, I was the absolute queen of lying to myself! And why did I do it? Because I was shit-scared of admitting to myself that I was desperately unhappy. If I was honest with myself I’d have to face up to the awful truth, or worse still I’d actually have to do something about it. So, I continued to waste many, many years in a toxic relationship, shit job and a stressed-out body. Sound familiar?
Self-love
Self-love is an alien concept to most of us. Usually when people show signs of healthy self-love or high levels of self-esteem they are immediately judged as being full of crap. And just to be clear, when I talk about self-love, I’m not referring to that fear-based arrogance that’s sometimes mistaken for self-love. To me, self-love is truly loving and accepting yourself, including your many annoying imperfections. I’m going to be honest with you here, it is an ongoing journey. I’ve been doing this many years and I’m always learning how to love myself a little bit more.
Self-care
When you start to love yourself more you will automatically start to care for yourself more too. Why? Simply because you value yourself at a deeper level and your actions will reflect that. Self-care is feeding your body with wholesome foods, well, most of the time! Inviting healthy relationships into your life and setting boundaries with relationships that are not so healthy. Having a job that feeds your soul rather than one that is slowly sucking the life out of you. This results in a much happier, healthier and balanced you, and everyone around you will reap the rewards.
